Hello there,

The initial usergroup the members get after account confirmation have now the following restrictions imposed to reduce spam messages by bots/ unscrupulous users.

- Can no more create new threads.
- Private Messaging disabled.

Introduce yourself (reply) in introduction thread and make another post (reply) in another thread or, just make two reply posts in any forum other than Garage. Just don't spam!

So, it affects just new-signups. To get features to full features of the community just two posts are needed which, should be tough enough for legit users!

Thanks for understanding and hope it reduces spam messages to some extent.

If you know which the bots are, then wouldnt it be easier to ban them and delete them at the same time?, just an Idea, thanks for making this an issue Sid :)

We have banned all the bot IDs, which signed up so far. But, now and then new ones sign up and create mess. This step should hopefully prevent bots non-sense to some extent, even if this is by-passed I'll look for more options!

I tried to create an intro thread in the Chit Chat section and was denied. Where exactly do you do this?

Post some replies in pre-created thread, and your usergroup shall be promoted, then you can create new threads.

I don't mind these changes since i hardly make any new threads since nobody replies to mine anyways lol

These changes are just for new-signups, old people aren't affected at all. Seems majority of the people here are bit busy in their lives, so a lil less activity lately... But, we'd appreciate if you stick around and help us be active.
