The Hart Foundation Heading To SmackDown!
Source - PWInsider
It now appears that The New Hart Foundation will be brought up to the main WWE roster under the SmackDown brand. They are currently being advertised locally for the Bakersfield, California Smackdown/ECW taping on Novermber 6th.
Teddy Hart (Bret Hart's nephew), Harry Smith (son of Davey Boy Smith), Nattie Neidhart (daughter of Jim Neidhart), Ted DiBiase Jr. (self explanatory) and TJ Wilson (close Hart family friend for years) are all currently working down in WWE’s developmental territory, Florida Championship Wrestling. It is still unknown if all the members will make the active roster.
WWE has planned on brining a new Hart Foundation generation to the roster for well over a year now. Others being advertised for the 11/6 TV taping are The Undertaker, Batista, Rey Mysterio, The Great Khali, Matt Hardy and CM Punk.
WWE Family Feud Update
WWE's Family Feud specials featuring Superstars vs. Divas will air on November 5th through the 9th. Videos have surfaced online of Batista, King Booker, Jonathan Coachman, Kennedy and Ric Flair taking on Queen Sharmell, Michelle McCool, Brooke, Layla El and Maria. In one clip, Maria basically gives away an answer with one of those "Maria moments."
CBS Doing Benoit Special
Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter
"48 Hours" that airs on CBS is working on a one-hour show that features the Benoit murders and the problems with young deaths in wrestling. Interviews are currently being arranged and will continue over the next several weeks.
Possible Jericho Update
Dave Meltzer reported Thursday night that Chris Jericho has indeed picked WWE over TNA for his highly anticipated return to the ring and is set to return at WWE's No Mercy on 10/7. After being in talks with both TNA and WWE, Jericho has decided on WWE.
Eugene & Cryme Tyme Update
Source - Wrestling Observer Newsletter
Nick Dinsmore (a/k/a Eugene) is currently looking at working as both Nick Dinsmore and as U-Gene. Personally he would rather work as Dinsmore, but feels there is more money, particularly for autograph shows and personal appearances in the old Eugene character. Right now his going rate is $1,200 per match on the Cindie scene and $700 per autograph session.
Recently released Cryme Tyme is charging $1,000 per match on the indie scene and $700 per autograph session.
And now, our column of the week, written by RHGLazyAzz. This is our first official entry into the WNWN Column Competition too!
The Same Old "New" WWE in 2017
Written by RHGLazyAzz
I decided a good way to make my return to the boards after a small absence was to enter the competion by writing a new column. After giving it long consideration, a topic finally came to mind. What about the WWE of the future, What should we look for and who will emerge as the leaders of the same old "new" WWE. Now as always, these writings are merely my personal opinion but are formed on the basis of facts and by watching the trends for the last 40 years. So hang on to your seats, for some of these ideas may seem way out there and hard to believe.
What wrestlers should you look for to emerge and take charge. In ten years I believe that barring major injuries these wrestlers listed below will be the cream of the crop so to speak. They should be t the peak of their careers and will be the star drawing power of the WWE.
In the womens field, look for Beth Phoenix to rise to superstardom. She is gifted and is a very musuclar physical athlete. She is the WWE's answer as how to replace its former star Chyna. Beth is definitely a superior heel role player. And after her previous injury I am sure she is even more determined to succeed. If she can avoid the drug scandals and issues down the road, look for her to become the first woman to hold the Heavyweight Championship belt that has been for men only. This may not be as hard to believe as you may think. After all, her predocessor Chyna has already held a belt reserved for the men field only. Chyna recieved her big break by being associated with DX, but Beth has the opportunity to do it strictly on her own. She must make her mark in wrestling and not make the same mistakes her forefollowers made.
Now, as for the mens field, we have a man who will rise up and follow in the steps of Stone Cold Steve Austin. That wrestler is none other than Mr. Kennedy. His actions are a pretty close clone of SCSA. His size and statue and physical conditioning are about the same. He is a brawler but does possess the skill to go scientific if necessary. You may not like to listen to him, but he is a skilled mic performer. And after all, a good verbal confrotation is sometimes better than the physical ones we have seen. There is no doubt that some time in the next 10 years, he will arise as a major crowd drawing superstar and be a very valuable asset to the same old "new" WWE
There is also a tag team that is going ton rise to the top and be a major draw. That is none other than Lance Cade and Trevor Murdock. Now here are two that have fashioned themselves as the replacement for the DX team of Road Dogg and Billy Gunn. We have Trevor who is the brawling type like Road Dog and Lance who is the more muscular and physical like Billy Gunn,. They already mimick the style and actions of Dogg/Gunn. They are so simular that it is almost uncanny. They would make a great addition to the DX gang even now. 2017 will be their year and time to reign supreme in the WWE as a "new" era will be ushered in.
Another superstar who is on his way to being the top draw in a decade is Santio Marella. Now this guy has it all. He is skilled andI love to hear him on the mic. He must remain heel because face just will not work for him. He style and actions are definitely cloned from none other than Kurt Angel. Now I know you may find that hard to believe. But look at his size and build. If there is one thing I like to hear is a person with a different accent give interviews. The funniest thing I ever saw fron Santino was when he attacked Simmons, mumbles at him and then says "damn" with his unique accent. For him to recieve his first championship like he did sort of implies that he has found favor in the company. Look for him to be a major player in 2017.
Now who will run WWE in 2017. To me that is easy. Barring a divorce, Stephanie and HHH will do the daily running of the television portion of WWE. This is only logical. In 10 years HHH career will more than likely be over as a full time wrestler. Mr McMahon may still make an appearance or two occasionally, but dont look for that to happen. With HHH at the helm as the on screen Chairman, look for the same kind of antics that are in play today. And the good thing is HHH should still be in shape enough to get into the ring for those special matches. There will probably be on screen conflicts between him and Shane O Mac. This will keep things interesting enough.
Of course, by 2017 there will be millions of new viewer who will have absolutely no idea that what they are watching for the first time is actually something that people my age saw 20 years ago. to them it will be the new age of wrestling, but for me it will merely the same old "new" WWE with just a differnt twist on the players. By then people will say who was Jim Ross just as some now say who was Gordon Solie.
Will these predictions come true? Are they so far fetched that they can not be believed? Well, just wait and respond to this post in the year 2017. Hope you guys enjoed these opinions
